SENZA · ceiling-mounted basin faucet

Installation guide · SENZA

Before you start

Installation by a qualified plumber, to local water regulations. The spout is fed through the ceiling and the mixer valve sits inside the wall, so all pipework goes in before the wall and ceiling are closed. Working pressure 1.5–10 bar (22–145 psi); connections G ½.

Shut off the water supply before you begin.

In the box

Ceiling spout with ceiling plate · spout connector (G ½) with washer · concealed valve body (G) with three pipe connectors (F) · cover plate (H) · lever handle (I) with set screw (J), Allen key (K) and cover cap (L).

You will need

PTFE tape, an adjustable spanner, pipe and fittings for the hot, cold and mixed-water runs, a tape measure and a spirit level.

How it connects: hot and cold go into the wall mixer; one mixed-water pipe runs from the mixer up through the ceiling to the spout.
Setting out. The standard SENZA drop is 1600 mm from the ceiling to the outlet; other lengths are made on request. Aim for the outlet about 100 mm above the basin rim — so roughly 1700 mm from the rim to the ceiling — and place the spout so the outlet lands over the bowl. If your ceiling is higher or lower, tell us before ordering. This guide shows the Wall Mounted Control. With the Counter Mounted Control the spout fits exactly as in Part A; contact us for the mixer instructions.

The ceiling spout

Fig. 1 · ConnectorWrap PTFE tape around the G ½ thread, fit the washer and screw the connector up into the ceiling supply outlet.

Part B

The wall mixer

Valve body G with three pipe connectors F

Step 1

Fit the pipe connectors

Shut off the water supply. Screw the three pipe connectors (F) into the valve body (G) as shown.

Valve body G set in the wall with hot inlet on the left and cold inlet on the right

Step 2

Connect hot and cold

Set the valve body (G) in the wall. Connect the cold supply to the right-hand inlet and the hot supply to the left-hand inlet. The top outlet takes the mixed-water pipe up to the ceiling spout.

Step 3

Fit the plate and handle

Slide the cover plate (H) over the valve body (G) and push it flat against the wall. Fit the handle (I) onto the valve and lock it by tightening the set screw (J) with the Allen key (K). Press the cover cap (L) into place.

Step 4

Turn on and test

Turn the water back on. Check every joint at the ceiling and the wall for leaks, then run the tap fully hot and fully cold for a minute to flush the pipes.

Looking after the finish

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry it. No abrasive cleaners, scourers or solvents — they damage the finish.
