SIFNOS / Brass Privacy Thumbturn & Bolt
Guaranteed Safe & Secure Checkout
SIFNOS is a privacy lock for bathroom and bedroom doors: a brass thumbturn on the inside, an emergency release on the outside, and a square bolt that locks into the door frame. The thumbturn is a short brass cylinder with a scooped grip for the thumb, on a slim round rose. It is named after Sifnos, the Cycladic island known for its potters.
Choose the rose size. The 65mm (2.6") rose covers a standard North American 2-1/8" (54mm) door bore. The 52mm (2") rose suits doors drilled for it, as is usual in Europe and the Middle East: a 25mm (1") hole for the spindle and two 8mm holes 38mm (1.5") apart for the fixing bolts.
The bolt has a 60mm (2-3/8") backset and a 57 x 25.4mm (2-1/4 x 1") faceplate. Finishes: Satin Brass, Antique Brass, Matte Black (with a brass bolt) or Brushed Nickel.
To ensure the lasting beauty and preservation, we advise periodically wiping it with a soft cloth and applying a high-quality metal polish. Our meticulous plating process is designed to maintain the handle's elegant matte appearance and to decelerate the natural oxidation process, thus prolonging its pristine condition.
