Most homes collect their hardware a room at a time: levers from one shop, cabinet pulls from another, switches from whatever the electrician brought. The homes that feel designed do the opposite. One detail, in one finish, runs from the front door to the last drawer.
Our collections are built that way. Each family carries the same detail across cabinet handles, door levers and door pulls, so you can choose once and use it everywhere.
Choose a family
| Family | The detail | Cabinets | Doors | Also in the family |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OPORTO | Cross-knurled bar, smooth collars, tapered posts | Handles 96 to 224 mm hole-to-hole, T-pull | Lever and lock set, double-sided pull | – |
| MARBELLA | Linear knurling, diamond-cut and hand-finished | Handles 96 to 320 mm, knobs, T-bar, handle with backplate | Lever and lock set, double-sided pull | Privacy thumbturn, barn door handle |
| PORTA | Knurled bar on fluted legs | Handles 96 to 416 mm, knobs, T-bar, handle with backplate | Lever and lock set, double-sided pull | – |
| LACIE | Moulded knurled brass | Handles 96 to 320 mm, knobs, T-bar | Double-sided pull | Furniture legs |
For a quieter house, pair smooth pieces instead: ANTA handles and knobs on cabinets, with the KALBA lever on doors.
Then the small things
The details people notice are the ones nobody planned.
- Switches. KLAS toggles and dimmers are cross-knurled, the same grip as OPORTO. See our switch buying guide.
- Door stops. The MOGLE knurled door stop comes in all four core finishes.
- Bathroom locks. The MARBELLA thumbturn gives bathroom and bedroom doors a knurled privacy lock with an emergency release outside.

Order levers by what each door does
Count your doors by function, then order each lever set in the matching configuration. Names vary slightly by family.
| Configuration | What it does | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Passage | Latches, doesn't lock | Living rooms, kitchens, hallways |
| Privacy (button or thumbturn) | Locks from inside, with an outside release | Bathrooms, bedrooms |
| Entry (keys) | Locks with a key | Side and utility doors, home offices |
| Dummy (fixed) | A handle with no latch | Wardrobes, cupboards, the fixed leaf of double doors |
Choose the rose size for your door. The 65 mm (2.6 in) rose covers a standard North American door bore of 2-1/8 in (54 mm). The 52 mm (2 in) rose suits doors drilled the European and Middle Eastern way.
Our fitting guides cover passage and privacy sets, thumbturns and mortise locks and door stops.
How to mix metals well
One finish everywhere is calm. Two finishes, used with intent, give a house more depth. Mixing works when it looks decided:
- One lead finish, one accent. Use the lead on every door, lever and switch. Keep the accent for one zone, such as the kitchen or a dressing room.
- Change at a threshold. Switch finishes at a doorway or a change of room, never halfway along a wall.
- Keep the sheen consistent within a zone. Two different golds can sit together. A satin finish beside a polished one reads as a mistake.
Where polished nickel fits
After years of gold, designers are turning back to polished nickel. It is bright and reflective like chrome, but warmer. Our Glypta collection of sculpted knobs and pulls is finished in Polished Nickel over solid brass.
It works best as the accent in a brass house. Put Glypta on the kitchen or a dressing room and keep Satin Brass on the doors. Because nothing else in that room is polished nickel, let the switches recede there: White plates on a pale wall.
An example schedule

| Kitchen | Glypta knobs and pulls; White KLAS plates | Polished Nickel |
